Our Family

My name is Daniel Sweeten we are located about 1 hour north of Houston in our small, amazing town of Montgomery Texas. I own my business KD & Sons Insurance Services, as well as our breeding business KD Sweet Southern Danes. I am a Insurance Adjuster and am always out of town working different catastrophe situations such as Hurricanes, Earthquakes, Fires, Floods, Etc. I love to help people through some of the worst experiences of their lives. When I am home I am coaching my sons baseball teams, taking care of our Danes and doing what I love most being a husband and father. My beautiful wife is Kasey Sweeten and she is in the financial buisness. Alot of our Kennel and breeding buisness falls on her amazing shoulders while i am out of town. We have 4 amazing kids who are smart, funny, talented, active in the community with bright futures ahead of them. We have 1.5 acres on our property where we raise our Danes and they get to run, play and enjoy life.

What is KD Sweet Southern Danes about?

Hello and welcome to our website. Here at KD Sweet Southern Danes, we have a passion for family and the Great Dane breed. We believe both things go hand in hand together, all of our Danes live in our home and are members of our family. Our passion began 4.5 years ago when a family friend reached out to leave us with our first Dane Mrs. Pepper Potts. Pepper as we call her showed us unconditional love from day one and immediately became a member of our family, we could not imagine life without her in it. She is smart, patient, forgiving, beautiful, elegant, with an amazing personality and temperament. She was the perfect dog for our rough and tough 3 boys. She created this burning desire and passion in us to conserve, improve, and continue the breed as a whole. Our passion is to help as many families as possible have the feeling and relationship that we have with all of our Danes.

Our Program

At KD Sweet Southern Danes our program believes in responsibly breeding to certain strict standards. We believe in breeding first to proper structure and health. All of our Danes are vet checked regularly and given a clean bill of health before entering into our breeding program. Second, we breed for temperament, this is very important to us. We want your new Dane to be a member of your family and be yours or your kid's best friend. Third we breed for size because come on the Great Dane is meant to be a giant. Lastly, we breed for color, because honestly every color is beautiful and elegant, so it is the least important thing to us.

Why a Great Dane?

Well, this is an easy answer for me but maybe not you. The Great Dane originates from Germany and was bred to be a working dog to hunt wild Boar. The Great Dane is commonly referred to as "The Apollo of Dogs" with its giant size, muscular frame, elegant stance and stride, friendly temperament, loyal, and loving to the very end. The Great Dane is comfortable in any situation or lifestyle, they love to run, play fetch, be taken on walks, or being a couch Potatoe. Whatever lifestyle you prefer the Great Dane will adapt and love to do it with you. The Great Dane is a very affectionate dog, loves to be petted and receive your attention. Great Danes are amazing with children they are patient, forgiving, tough, and have the perfect disposition that it takes to be a child's dog.
